Hi Everyone
I have been tardy with my Substack posts. Partly because at times or certain stages when change and growth happens parenting requires more intentional attention and presence than usual. I have been enjoying being present with my little guys in ways beyond what I could have imagined we’d need.
I have been spending a lot of time working on preparing a manuscript for publication. This time not my own. We all know the importance of writing and words. Logophiles appreciate this more than most.
As a South African most of what we have been exposed to from TV, movies, books, music and so much more has been from western countries especially the U.S. As our own industries grow our stories are being told and shared more globally. The importance of our history told by us can not be stressed enough. As our world evolves we gain a newer, clearer and higher perspective which creates a new, better reality for all of us by understanding and knowing more about each other and everything. Maybe even finding there is more that connects us than what divides us.
For this reason I am elated to share this Memoir with you. It has been such a priviledge to be part of bringing this book to the world. The author takes you into a world and time and allows you to walk and experience it with him. As an 80s baby, our younger generations often do not get our Gen X and Boomer parents and we are all going through an awakening and self awareness process. Either consciously or subconsciously. Healing from or growing through our childhood experiences. So we are able to intentionally break unhealthy patterns and evolve emotionally, mentally and spiritually into higher versions of ourselves. Possibly shaping our destiny instead of living out a fate we didn’t choose, want or deserve.
As we write and read we are time traveling and as we revisit history or the past over time, we see it differently. I’d like to think it heals, bring closure, bridges divides and energetically or spiritually alters something beyond our present awareness.
I do not want to share too much detail here but I urge you to add this to your TBR list or pick up a copy or ebook.
Supporting writers, artists and creatives helps not only the individual but so many on a large scale. When reading this book there are so many conversations, feelings and ideas that could be had from just peeking into that time period and setting in South Africa. As a collective the more we fill in the blanks and piece the puzzle together for ourselves based on truths that were not imposed on us, misconstrued from an altered perception or constructed for the purpose of furthering certain agendas, the more harmony and unity we may eventually have.
